Climate Change is Real

I am a strong believer that if we don't move fast and effectively implement the needed actions; we will end up destroying the future of coming generations on this planet... our only planet.

The August 2021 report of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) was the most explicit warning of the role of human activity in climate change and its impact on our planet. The UN Secretary General has described it as "Code Red for Humanity." The IPCC reported that human-induced climate change is the main driver behind many weather and climate extremes, including heatwaves, fire weather, heavy precipitation, droughts, and tropical cyclones, in every region across the globe. Our actions caused global warming, but the actions we choose to take now can limit it as well.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has continued to provide comprehensive assessments of climate science since its August 2021 report. The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) was completed with the release of its Synthesis Report in March 2023.
Human activity is the cause and the solution. The Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) underscores that human-induced climate change is unequivocally affecting every region globally, leading to unprecedented changes such as more frequent and severe heatwaves, heavy precipitation, droughts, and tropical cyclones. The report emphasizes that immediate and deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions are essential to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Exceeding this threshold significantly increases the risk of severe climate impacts. Our actions caused global warming, but the actions we choose to take now can limit it as well.
We need to limit further climate change. Recent data indicates that 2024 is on track to be the hottest year on record, with global temperatures exceeding 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels for the first time. While 1.5°C global warming will cause extreme weather and climate events, at 2°C global warming and above, such events will become much more frequent and intense.
As of now, human activities have been the primary driver of recent climate change, they also hold the key to mitigating its impacts. The choices we make now are crucial in determining the future trajectory of our planet's climate.
